چکیده

The Papilio demoleus is a key pest of citrus orchards found throughout the year. Their infestation causes defoliation, retards growth, and yields reduction. five insecticides namely; Emamectin Benzoate 1.9 EC, Belt 480g/L SC (Flubendiamide), Helmet 40 EC (Chlorpyrifos), Coragen (Chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC), Regent 5% (Fipronil) were tested on C. limon orchard leaves against larvae population lemon butterfly under laboratory conditions during, 2020. maximum cumulative effect all treatments was observed in three replications. mortality efficacy recorded after 24, 48, 72, 120, 168 hours post-sprays. result revealed that pesticide proved with larval (66.64±8.16%) followed by (60.26±0.76), (59.66±7.72), (57.14±7.65), (56.18±7.50), respectively. It concluded insecticide provided better % population. one-way ANOVA showed significant difference among at p<0.05 level. After application reduced movement, skin became wrinkled, thin, yellow-brown pigmentation visibly appeared loose muscle concentration releasing hyper-salivation semi-liquid frass. Thus; it recommended to be applied time interval basis suppress butterflies

Effects of repeated haemolymph withdrawals on haemocyte counts and moulting in lemon-butterfly, Papilio demoleus L.

Total and differential haemocyte counts following repeated haemolymph withdrawals were made in V instar larvae of P. demoleus. While total count showed a steady reduction reaching its lowest in prepupal stage, much variation was observed in the relative percentage of various cell types. Further, the repeated removals of haemolymph from V instar larvae and pupae affected imaginal moulting and le...

Larvicidal Activity of some Bacterial Insecticides and Insect Growth Regulators against Mosquito Larvae of Aedes aegypti (L.)

The biological effects of the bacterial insecticides Bacilod, VectoLex and Spinosad as well as the insect growth regulators (IGRs) Baycidal, Sumilarv and Dudim against mosquito larvae of Aedes aegypti have been evaluated. According to LC50 values (concentration which to kill 50% of larvae), the bioinsecticide Spinosad (0.011 ppm) proved to be the most effective compound, followed by Bacilod (0....

Efficacy of Thai Neem Oil against Aedes Aegypti (l.) Larvae.

Trees with larvicidal activity may be found in Thailand. We conducted this study to evaluate the efficacy and length of efficacy of Thai neem (Azadirachta siamensis) oil emulsion and an alginate bead of Thai neem oil formulation against early fourth stage Aedes aegypti larvae using a dipping test. The Thai neem oil emulsion had significantly greater larvicidal activity than the alginate bead fo...

Efficacy of two organophosphorus insecticides, Reldan & Dursban against the larvae of Culex quinquefasciatus.

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES The resistance in vectors to conventional insecticides warrants development of newer insecticides for mosquito control besides use of other counter-measures. The present study was undertaken to test the efficacy of a new and toxicologically safe organophosphorus compound, Reldan (chlorpyrifos-methyl) and compare its efficacy with Dursban (chlorphyrifos-ethyl) against lar...

Haemopoietic organs and effect of their ablation on total haemocyte count in lemon-butterfly, Papilio demoleus L.

The haemopoietic organs in Vth instar larvae of P. demoleus are in the form of thin transparent cellular sheets, closely wrapped around the base of each wing-pad. Three cell types viz; prohaemocytes, plasmatocytes and oenocytoids appear to be derived from these organs and their ablation caused a reduction in cell number which, in turn, revealed that the haemocytes in general are derived both fr...
